Creating a new corporate identity for Piramed Pharma

Brief

PiramedPiramed Pharma is a young and dynamic biotechnology company, dedicated to using its signal transduction technology to find new treatments for cancer and inflammatory diseases.

Upon its foundation in 2003, the Company acquired key IP licences obtained from Astellas Pharma and the three London Research Institutes of its scientific founders. These licenses related to the PI 3-kinase alpha and delta isoforms involved in signal transduction pathways.

Piramed WebsiteSince its inception, Piramed has grown and developed into a maturing biopharmaceutical company. This necessitated a new corporate identity to reflect the Company's altered status.

Northbank worked with Piramed's senior management to create and develop a new corporate identity that reflected the Company's values, strengths and direction.

Objectives

  • Build visual recognition of the new Piramed Pharma brand
  • Create a classic corporate identity that is memorable and reflects the Company's values
  • Create and present an image of Piramed as a professional and successful biopharmaceutical company in the cancer arena
  • Raise awareness of the Company and its projects with its key audiences

Method

  • A brainstorm with senior management was held to discover the values and key messages to be communicated in the identity
  • The scope of the project and how the identity was to be used was defined
  • Northbank's creative team produced a selection of bespoke designs that captured Piramed's personality
  • The logo was developed from the chosen visual route and the colour palette that was instrumental in the final design
  • A creative platform was created that complemented and built on the logo to provide more visual interest and flexibility across materials

Results

  • Increased activity and contact made via the Piramed website
  • The new identity was well received by Piramed staff, realigning the visual brand to represent the modern and dynamic environment they work in. It was also well received by those companies collaborating with Piramed (e.g. Genentech)
  • The identity was rolled out across additional Piramed corporate materials, including website (copyedited by Northbank) and stationery
