Northbank Communications expands its financial PR and IR services with the appointment of Emma Palmer as Associate Director

Northbank Communications, the full service PR and marketing consultancy focused on science-based companies, has announced that it has appointed Emma Palmer as Associate Director with responsibility for growing Northbank's reputation and client base in financial PR and IR activities. Most recently Emma was Director and life sciences analyst at WestLB Panmure.

Northbank Communications was created as a new brand in 2002 and has expanded its team and offering to meet market needs. Explaining Northbank's strategic expansion in financial PR and IR, Sue Charles, Northbank's co-founder and CEO said "Until 2004, the public markets were relatively closed to life science companies. Consequently until recently we have focused on venture-backed private companies and profit-making lab science supply companies. With the loosening of the IPO market, especially on AIM, London's Alternative Investment Market, we have been asked on several occasions to provide PR and IR support for listing and listed companies.

"Emma will spearhead our financial PR and IR services, integrating with our corporate and commercial communications teams" continued Charles. "Her in-depth experience of the life sciences financial markets and pharmaceutical industry make her the ideal person to build up our financial PR and IR activities. She has an extensive network of contacts in the media, industry and City, and is a highly respected by colleagues. We are confident that she will be a valuable addition to our team."

Emma has just completed an MBA at Durham Business School. Prior to that she was a life sciences equities analyst for seven years, at Williams de Broe, Robert Flemings Securities and latterly at WestLB Panmure where she was a Director and part of a team ranked fourth in Europe. Prior to joining the City, Emma was a Business Manager at CRC Technology, the technology transfer arm of the Cancer Research Campaign (now Cancer Research UK), and a pharmaceutical journalist for Scrip World Pharmaceutical News.

Based at Northbank's London offices, Emma will be responsible for financial PR and IR across Europe.
