New
product brand & marketing materials for Solexa Inc
Having worked
with Solexa for many years, Northbank was commissioned to design
and develop a set of high quality marketing materials for the new
Solexa Genome Analysis System. Utilising a modern colour palate
and a professional visual style, which combined photography with
technical illustrations, Nortbank delivered the materials in time
for the American Society of Human Genetics conference.
Northbank was
briefed to create a design theme that could be applied across all
of Solexa’s corporate materials, including the company website,
its product literature, and its exhibition materials, to build a
clear and consistent image. The specific project deliverables included
a new product brochure, technology overview, branded giveaways and
a pre-conference promotional e-mailer.
Following an
intensive briefing, a series of creative ideas were proposed using
different design concepts that aimed to emphasise the unique capabilities
and benefits of the product. One of these ideas was selected and
taken forward to the next phase to be developed further and applied
across the marketing materials.
Northbank was
responsible for authoring the technical copy for the promotional
literature, and for designing technical illustrations for use in
electronic and print media to explain to customers how the new system
works.
To raise awareness
of Solexa’s workshop at the conference, Northbank also designed
a HTML email file, which was used to target conference delegates
and promote the new product. Click here
